Arsene Tungali has been working and collaborating for the past 7 years on projects and initiatives related to Internet governance. He is well known for his work on Internet freedoms issues, has either conducted or supported research projects, documenting violations happening online such as Internet shut downs, censorship and other online human rights violations, etc in his country, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

 

Arsene has attended and contributed either as a participant or a speaker at a number of UN meetings such as the annual Internet Governance Forum (IGF) where he currently serves as a member of the Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG). He also works on domain names policy with ICANN and sits on the GNSO Council as a member of the Non Commercial Stakeholders Group (NCSG).

 

He is Co-founder and Executive Director of Rudi International, a nonprofit based in Goma (DRC) working, among others, on digital rights issues. Rudi currently focuses on ICT research, capacity building and advocacy and is among the prominent civil society organizations working on digital rights and inclusion issues in DRC.

 

Arsene is well known in the tech space in the Congo and is linked to major tech initiatives operating in the country, for having mentored many of them and helping them get a wider reach and audience.
